Plains Art Museum Announces Collaboration with Indigenous Association

Press Release
For Immediate Release (March 2021)
Plains Art Museum and the Indigenous Association announce their collaboration on the second floor of the
Museum’s Katherine Kilbourne Burgum Center for Creativity.
“The Indigenous Association is very excited about this collaboration. One of our initial goals was to find a space in
a central location that allows us to bring Indigenous people together. This collaboration will allow the Indigenous
Association to become a place for Indigenous people from Fargo, Moorhead, and the surrounding areas to
connect,” said Brandon Baity – founding Board Member of the Indigenous Association.
Creativity Among Native American Artists (CANAA) at Plains Art Museum and the Indigenous Association’s
missions both seek to engage the region’s Indigenous Community by co-hosting activities, events, and meetings
in the space throughout the year. With the close proximity of their locations, this promises to be both impactful and
meaningful for the Indigenous population of Fargo-Moorhead-West Fargo and its surrounding region.
The Indigenous Association’s vision is to connect, unite and strengthen the Indigenous Community. Its strategy is to
establish a safe & inclusive space worthy of our diverse Indigenous community by collaborating & building capacity
through education, awareness, advocacy & respect, sustaining our indigenous programs for future generations.
Plains Art Museum is your nonprofit art museum and education center, supported by over 800 individuals and
